Supporting NHS Hospitals and Departments with High Density Storage Solutions.
Every hospital is unique, with its own set of challenges and storage needs. From the safeguarding of confidential paperwork to securely housing medicines or surgical equipment, each space comes with its own requirements. Often, this means finding clever ways to maximise small or awkward spaces. What follows are just two examples of where we have supported hospitals in the provision of storage solutions:Salisbury Hospital – Records Consolidation
Salisbury Hospitals team approached Rackline to support them in the consolidation of thousands of patient records into an unused space within the hospital.
With records stored off-site there were cost implications, but also more serious issues with slow retrieval times, security and the potential of file loss.
The hospital’s team identified an unused area which could potentially be used for record storage. But the space was large, dark and awkwardly shaped.

Our projects team were required to work within this space, and using clever design, custom designed static shelving and our Multitrak mobile we managed to provide organised storage for over 450,000 files.
Implementing these solutions has both saved their teams the costs associated with the offsite storage, and improved the efficiency and speed of deposit/retrieval. This has helped the hospital as a whole and helped to improve the experience for patients.

Chesterfield Hospital – Mobile Racking.
Within Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Rackline has supported their teams with the implementation of increased, more efficient storage.
Rackline’s teams were tasked with the creation of a new, high density storage solution for the safe keeping of thousands of theatre kits, scrubs and sundry items.
Using clever design and industry knowledge, Rackline’s team maximised the space with the manufacture and install of both roller racking and static shelving.
The installed systems not only exceed the capacity requirements (there was a need to hold around 1600 kits) but they also provide plenty of space for its other medical focused items.
The result is a streamlined, efficient system that keeps items organised, easy to find and retrieve.
