For anyone who hasn’t lived in an alternative dimension since 2010 the phenomenon of Black Friday is now becoming an annual occurrence in the UK. A tradition in the United States, it is celebrated on the Friday after Thanksgiving and is marked by retail stores offering hugely discounted items.
Began, unsurprisingly by the American online store Amazon, Black Friday (and the following Monday, ‘Cyber Monday’) shopping has rapidly grown in the UK and is now a huge deal, with shoppers spending upwards of £3.3 billion annually over the Black Friday weekend. As well as thousands of consumers flocking to shopping centres and supermarkets throughout the day, masses of people will also be shopping for the best deals online.
Are You Ready?
Leading up to the Black Friday weekend, retailers throughout the UK will be increasing their stock levels ready to take advantage of the huge increase in demand from shoppers. Together with making sure each store is stocked to the max, retailers will also have to ensure that their warehouses and click and collect provisions provide enough storage.
Do you have enough storage in place to cope with the demands of Black Friday?
At Rackline we provide a wide range of specialist solutions for retail stockrooms, logistics companies and click and collect points, helping organisations to be prepared for Black Friday and other seasonal shopping events.
Retail Stockroom Systems
Whether you are looking for solutions for a small storeroom, a large stock room or a warehouse, Rackline’s teams can produce the ideal solutions to fit any retail environment (from convenience stores, to supermarkets and beyond). We examine your available space, look at your inventory, and design the ideal solutions for creating as much stock storage as possible.
We supply a huge range of static shelving systems, with robust shelving such as our Speedrax ideal for rapidly expanding stock capacity. We also supply and install mobile shelving systems. Our Multitrak high density mobile shelving or even powered mobile storage solutions should be considered for the maximum yield from your space. These storage units move to only open the aisles as required, reducing wasted space to a minimum while retaining the speed of your picking/replenishment.
Storage for Click and Collect
An increasing number of sales made on Black Friday are made online, with a large percentage of people shopping on their phone. With many people unavailable during the day delivery can be difficult. This is where Click and Collect comes into play,
Rather than having to pay extra for specific delivery dates, or waiting days on end to arrange a re-delivery, consumers can simply buy online and then collect from a Click and Collect area at the store (or even lockers at a nearby location). Shoppers can buy in confidence, knowing that their purchases will be kept safe in a secure space, ready to be picked up, rather than worrying about a valuable parcel being left in a ‘safe place’. Talk to us about your options, we can develop the perfect shelving for your store, or locker systems to meet your needs.
Warehouse Solutions
As well as store rooms on premises, Black Friday is also a very busy time for the warehousing and logistics departments. Rackline supply a wide range of warehouse shelving and racking solutions, including: Longspan Racking, Speedrax Archive Shelving, Mobile Shelving and Pallet Racking.
With experience in the sector stretching back to 1984, we can work with your organisation to maximise all available space and improve efficiency, ahead of busy shopping periods and seasonal pressures.
